Construction and garment contruction

Fashion design relates to architecture and the pieces in this book are definitely architectural and pushes our concepts of what clothing can look like, architecture is also coming through in my trend.

I’ve been looking at pattern cutting lately as I want the focus to be on the beautiful pattern cutting of my garments, these books are really inspiring "pattern magic"by Tomoko Nakamichi. They have clear shots of the finished garments and a section of detailed and illustrated instructions. The designs are complex and sculputral. Looking at the photos, it’s sometimes difficult to imagine how a piece of two dimensional fabric was used to create such three dimensional sculpture.

After looking at this video I began to look at construction
and garment construction in more detail.....

Matthew Miller

"The collection is an analytical and pragmatic response to modern day social unrest. I looked at new processes and invented potential answers to questions that we previously thought were answered. The processes this season included 3d CGI 3d garment construction as well as using a program to unfold and define the details of the garments. Prints have also become part of my form. They are now known as progressive prints and are not only decorative surface designs but constructions which can communicate. The man I worked around for this collection was the Randian hero who is heroic, bold and technologically astute."    http://www.dazeddigital.com/fashion/article/11285/1/man-ss12-preview

when going onto wgsn I found some forthcoming trends
which I concidered to follow for my a/w 13/14 collection.
I am looking at a combination of two trends Haktivate
and Living Design.I took elements which I felt were relevent
to my theme 2d-3d I like the idea of construction, architecture
and blue prints which comes through well in the trends.
